Where to Stay in Dili Before the Atauro Ferry

The Nakroma ferry to Atauro leaves from Porto Dili, the main port in central Dili, and MV Success from Kolmera on the central waterfront. Tickets are sold at the port on the morning you travel, so stay close and arrive at least an hour before departure. These places are within about 2 km of Porto Dili in a straight line.

Staying in Comoro or near the airport

Hotels on the airport side of the city are further from the port: Timor Plaza Hotel is about 3.8 km and Timor Lodge about 5.2 km away in a straight line, and Hotel Dongshan, our partner in Comoro, is also on the west side (its drive time to the port is not yet measured). From there, book a taxi the evening before and leave early: morning traffic and ticket queues can be slow, and the ferry will not wait.
